CapaCare´s Surgical Training Program in Sierra Leone accepts new students twice a year, primarily in April and October. After two years of intensiv training and clinical placements in our partner hospitals throughout the country, our students have to pass their final exams before entering a one year housemanship in designated Hospitals in Freetown. To honour their achievements its becoming tradition two host biannual graduation ceremonies. The first one took place in 2017 where 27 students received their diplomas in front of colleagues, family and visiting dignitaries. On the 13th of April this year we commemorated another 20 graduates with a big celebration in Masanga. Pulling of such an event is no small task for our local management and we would like to thank them for their efforts. Dear graduates we wish you all the best in the time to come and we know you will play an important part in strengthening the health care system in Sierra Leone.
