The partnership with Masanga Hospital has been one of the cornerstones of CapaCare´s program in Sierra Leone from the very beginning. Dr. Alex van Duinen and his family spent 2 1/2 years in Sierra Leone between 2011 and 2013. At the time he worked as the medical superintendent for Masanga Hospital, wich eventually led to him joining CapaCare and relocating to Norway. This fall he wanted to give something back by donating money towards the running cost of the hospital. Being a keen runner Alex signed up for the Trondheim Marathon and manage to fundraise more than 3600 euro for the cause. Alex finished the half marathon in 1:49:06 a new personal best!
