Since its infancy CapaCares surgical training program in Sierra Leone has worked closely with Masanga Teaching Hospital. All the initial training of our students are conducted here and so are most of the refresher courses. Situated in a rural part of Tonkolili District, Masanga Hospital was founded as a hospital for leprosy patients in the 1960s and its quiet surroundings makes for an ideal learning environment. Norwegian videographer Ole Bakke has produced a mini-serie from Masanga and in his latest episode he talks to current Medical Superintendent of Masanga Hospital, dutch tropical doctor Jonathan Vas Nunes.
