On Friday night a fuel tanker exploded following a collision in the Freetown suburb of Wellington. The death toll on Saturday stood at 99, with more than 100 patients admitted to different hospitals and clinics within the capitol. Out staff on the ground report that health services in Freetown are stretched to the limit. CapaCare and Masanga Hospital are trying to alleviate the situation by accepting a limited amount of patients for referral and admission to Masanga. We hope to fundraise to cover the cost for these patients. Estimated cost for 6 month admission, transport, medications and skin-grafting/debridements are 2.000 euro per patient. To support this effort donate via the website or go to our facebook fundraiser.
