On the 24th of October the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, St.Olavs Hospital and Central Norway Regional Health hosted the 8th annual Global Health Day in Trondheim. A number of international speakers attended and CapaCare was represented by trainer Professor Christopher B. Lynch and boardmember Dr. Alex van Duinen. Having spent most of his professional life working with women´s health and maternity issues, Professor Lynch gave an inspirational lecture on the management of postpartum hemorrhage and the procedure that now holds his name the “B.Lynch Brace Suture”. Dr. Alex van Duinen shared his experiences from 3,5 years of working and doing research in Sierra Leone. He also gave the audience an insight into his PhD research where he is currently conducting a large prospective study examining the quality of surgical care provided by non-physician clinicians. A number of scientists and clinicians in central Norway have active collaborations with individuals and institutions in developing countries and the global health day aims to increase this cooperation, while providing professional input and inspiration for further research.
