What is your background?
Born in Kadubaya village in the Sanda Loko chiefdom Bombali District. A father of one wife with three children, a boy and two girls. Education: Njala university, Bo Campus 2008-2011. Njala university college, Freetown campus. Secondary school education. High diploma in community health and clinical studies, certificate on agriculture general.
Why did you want to enter the program?
To help salvage the health problems within the healthcare ministries in Sierra Leone, especially in the area of surgery. More especially the maternal death amoung women of child bearing age due to poor surgical intervention at district and rural setting.
What is a normal day like for you at the hospital?
Some time good especially when I’m able to manage a critical case. When normally I’m on call, or assigned to manage a particular case and able to manage it successfully.
What do you like most about the program?
The practical aspect in the operation department more especially operating patients eg. Laparatomy, herniography, incision and drainage, amputation etc.
What will you do after you finish the program?
To work with the ministry of health and sanitation in Sierra Leone to help salvage the health problems within the country, especially in the area of surgery.
