Mohamed Kamara

I was burn in Bayande Village, Tonko Limba Chiefdom In the Kambia District, the Northern Province of Sierra Leone, i am the 7th son of a father of 35, a husband of 3,  the 3rd son of a mother of 5. I attended the Kambia District Education Committee school (K.D.C.) Bayande. Entered the Kolenten Secondary school Kambia in 1987 from form one to three, in 1991 i again enrolled in the Government Secondary school Madina from form three to form five, sat to the General certificate ordinary level exam in 1993. Moved to the Fergusson Memorial Secondary School Moyamba in 1993 to 1994 for a re-sit but  driven by the war/reular rebel attacks.  Acted as a pupil teacher in the Samu Baptist Secondary school while preparing for a re-sit, in 1997 to complete the five requirement to enter a university. Attempted the dispensary programme, dropped out during the second year due to lack of fees. Worked as a senior nurse in a private clinic in Free Town with a senior surgeon specialist. Dr. S.S. Kamara, 245 Bai Bureh Road till in 2004, gained enrolment in the school of community health and clinical studies, Njala University Bo. Qualified as a higher Diploma in community health and clinical sciences. On graduation in 2007,  reported for duty in the Government Hospital Kambia thereafter.  Worked in the Out Patient Department, the operating theatre and in-charge of the maternity ward until in July 2nd 2012 when I gained enrolment in to the Surgical Training Program.

I am a Limba by tribe and a Sierra Leonean by Nationality. I like listening to radio and surgery.

Why do you like to enter the program
I like this programme because it help me to meet my dreams enabling me to contribute to putting my country to the highest point in the millennium development goal, i.e reduction infant and maternal mortality/morbidity rate in the country.

What is a normal day like for you at the hospital?
A normal day for me in the Hospital is when i spent all my day in the operating theatre, learning, participating and given the opportunity to do operations.

What do you like most about the program?
What i like most in the program in learning different skills from different tutors/school of thoughts. more especially team work and many technical things.

What will you do after you finish the program?
After the programme i will report to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation for posting to any part of the country so as to contribute to national development and life saving activities.
