What is your background?
Born and grew up in Magburaka, Tonkolili District, Northern Sierra Leone. CHO with more than two years working experience in the OPD/EAU,Masanga Hospital. Interested in acute medicine, surgery and medical education.

Why did you want to enter the program?
Sierra Leone has a huge unmet surgical need and in order to improve the health services, affordable and accessible surgical care especially to the most vulnerable rural population is of paramount importance.

What is a normal day like for you at the hospital?
Masanga Hospital is the only Hospital i have worked as a CHO and am proud to say its one of the best in the country reaching out to the most vulnerable rural population. It’s a busy facility, many learning opportunities, working under stress using the least of what we have to make the best outcome for our patients. It’s a nice place to live and work. I have a fine time here. Normal day like for me in Masanga hospital; working tirelessly under stress, used to seeing many patients often challenging and unusual cases , beyound normal working hours-in the dark, very keen for the best outcome for our patients.

What do you like most about the program?
Teaching styles and techniques, ongoing evaluation which gives room for improvemet.

What will you do after you finish the program?
Practice at District Hospital, try to improve surgical care and make it accessible to the most vulnerable rural population.
